Signs and sleep...

I love reading the "Thought of the Day" sign at my local tube station, here's one of my favourite ones to date.
Seems to sum it all up for me at the moment...

 Photographed, read & digested
with thanks to the TFL staff at Clapham North tube station

It has been a very busy few weeks & I am exhausted!

Do you have a "Thought of the Day" notice near you? at your station, coffee shop, bookstore etc? I would love to hear your favourite thoughts...

with love,

Feeling Blue...

I'm a bit of a sad panda today...

alot has been happening over the last year, I sold, packed up & moved my whole life to the other side of the world (again), I changed jobs alot! made a precious handful of lovely friends and lost some good ones too...

I also lost the love of my life and with that have had to make some very difficult life changing decisions.

I feel like everything has come on top of me lately, so it's probably no surprise I'm feeling ill at the moment...

Not only do I wear my heart on my sleeve, I eat my feelings...

I also paint my feelings on my nails...

We all go through difficult & hard times in our life and I know that I just need to look after myself and get through it...

but it still hurts!

slowly getting through one day at a time...

nelly.com London launch party

Quite a few weeks back there were alot of tweets going around that there would be a party to end all launch parties coming up to celebrate the UK arrival of nelly.com

~ Scandinavia’s largest online store selling clothes, shoes & beauty
(think scandinavian asos!)

I put my virtual hand up, hoping for an invite...

and guess what?! I got one!!!

Held at the glamorous aqua London we waited very patiently in a long VIP line...

we got rained on a little bit which was a shame BUT we did get the full VIP paparazzi treatment with a cameraman
documenting our every move!

after about a 25 minute wait we were in!
quick someone get me a cocktail stat!

the venue was completely packed! so it was a little difficult to have a good sticky beak at the clothes on display...

I did however have a good look at the shoes!

Now speaking of shoes - did I mention that we got given a FREE PAIR OF SHOES!!! we did have to line up again for a very long time in order to have a good look at which 3 pairs we liked the most, write the name & size down - then put our details into the laptops to have the shoes delivered - but hey FREE SHOES are FREE SHOES people!

Whilst waiting in the shoe line I ran into the lovely Laura from laurasbible & I managed to get rather jolly (ok I got drunk :s) on all the lovely cocktails whilst waiting in the long line!

Along with being plied with cocktails & canapés we were also treated to a close up pole dancing show... yes, you read that right - pole dancing - seriously!

I had such a fun & fabulous evening at the launch, the venue was amazing with Gemma Cairney DJing for the night, manicure station's & a photobooth... of course I got too carried away with the cocktails to enjoy the mani's or the photobooth! lol

Since the launch I've been making a little online wishlist at nelly.com who stock over 800 brands with free UK delivery! and if you fancy a free pair of shoes or a whole dozen of free shoes - including a wishlist new wardrobe why don't you enter the nelly design your dream shoe competition to win a £2,000 shopping spree!

enter

I can't wait to see what shoes I get in the post! I'll be sure to put a blog post up when I get them

Schwarzkopf [3D]MENSION Review

Since moving back to sunny London about a year ago now, hubby-to-be and I were lucky enough to move into the best share house ever! Were now a happy little family made up of 2 couples & the fab dude Mr B (who featured in my last men's product trial).

Now living in a share house with 3 guys does take a bit of getting used to but it is alot of fun! Our house has a steady supply of cold beer, never ending football matches to watch & willing players ready to battle it out on the PlayStation...

But seriously - they really are great guys who are always up for a laugh and don't (seem to) mind one bit that my makeup/skincare/nail/hair stuff is constantly littered throughout the house/lounge room/bathroom...

So when Immediate PR tweeted for some male guinea pigs to try out the latest guys hair products from Schwarzkopf I thought the boys would be perfect to road test some new products NOT to mention that it was also a great opportunity for the ladies in the house to grab control of the telly remote for a little while! damn football!!! (Come Dine With Me! here we come! lol)...

The postie delivered 3 products from the Schwarzkopf Professional range for the cheeky monkeys to try out:

Deep Cleansing Shampoo £9.25
Strong Hold Gel £9.45
Texturising Cream £9.25

So, according to the fine people at Schwarzkopf:
The days of wash and go are gone, men are more sophisticated in their styling needs now and want to do more than just towel dry their hair. That's why Schwarzkopf Professional has launched [3D]MENSION - the first hair care brand that's 100% engineered to deal with men's hair in a truly "three dimensional" way by scoping not just the three key areas of hair, scalp and roots but covering the three hair care essentials; [1] care [2] styling and [3] colour

So with a bit of careful product placement I left the boys to their own devices...

This is the image we were aiming for...

And this is what they came up with

LOL

Tee he he he reminds me of Jedward!

Once again only Mr B was happy to appear in my blog post, here are his thoughts on the new [3D]MENSION

  • Cleaned my hair good
  • Smelt good
  • where did you put my beer?

Well there you have it folks, he's a man of few words but it's from the heart
Thanks again Mr B for being my tester bunny!

I think he really loves it!

Pixi GLOW *a touch of magic* collection inspired by Disney's Tinker Bell

Oh my stars! could a makeup launch be more exciting?!...
with a sprinkling of *fairy dust* I received an invite to the launch of PixiGlow at the flagship Pixi store just off Carnaby street

It's a gorgeous little store which was packed full of beautiful bloggers sipping bubbily drinks, nibbling on fairy cakes and swatching sparkly products! It was a fabulous evening - apart from the fact that I managed to somehow BREAK my camera! So sadly I don't have any pics from the night... anyway not to worry - come take a peek!

It's a six piece collection inspired by Disney's Tinker Bell...

*The PixiGlow extension line offers that final sprinkle of twinkle for eyes, lips and cheeks, allowing women to turn an ordinary look into an extraordinary one while celebrating every day with a touch of magic*...

Fairy Face Palette in Pixi Belle, £32

Straight on till Morning Liner, £9.50

Catching Shadows Crayon in Beaming Reflection, £12

Fairy Dust in Moonlit Luster, £10

Pirouette Pink polish - pink with golden shimmer

Magic Tink Tint in Happy Thoughts Pink, £12

So what do you think? super cute isn't it?!

And the Liebster goes to...

OH MY STARS!!!!
I cannot believe I have gone and done it again! my second Liebster award!

Awww I think I'm going to cry!!!

I would like to thank Amy of course! and a big thank you to all my lovely 142 blog followers for reading my little blog & for taking the time to comment and follow me on twitter

So what exactly is the Liebster? it's a cute little way of waving a big hello to bloggers with less than 200 followers. When you receive one you then give the award to 5 more blogs, isn't that sweet?

So, the rules are:
Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to the site ~ Thank you Amy at amyknowsbest!

♥ Copy and paste the liebster award logo to your blog

Choose five more up-and-coming bloggers who you feel deserve the award and hope that they will accept and nominate in turn five more.
